My Style: Now is Everything

This year is off to a wonderful start.  Classes have been tough but good, and blogging has been better than ever.  I was invited to enter a blogger contest hosted by Adidas NEO Label to show how #NOWISEVERYTHING, to express living life to the fullest in the moment and being yourself.  The challenge involved submitting two photos and one short film taken while wearing Adidas NEO Label clothes.  Their stylist sent me three beautiful pieces of clothing that I then had to style showing my own style.  For the photos and video, I wore a floral skater skirt dress, a fuzzy, black sweater, and a blue beanie all by NEO.  To stand out, I wanted to capture the uniqueness of being from Arizona, so I chose to shoot at my favorite location by the lake.  Since my personal style is urban boho, I added knee high socks and combat boots that complimented the NEO gear.  I enlisted the help of my brother to edit the 15-second Instagram video.  I was honored to have just had the chance to be a part of the contest and thrilled when they told me I had won!  The grand prize was a trip to Miami Beach to participate in a two-day photo shoot for the NEO spring/summer campaign.  It was an incredible experience, and I can't wait to tell you all about it when the campaign launches in April.  Keep an eye out in the upcoming months.  Hope you live in the present today, not regretting yesterday and not worrying about the future. Now is everything, so live each moment and have fun! Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Plaids & Florals

The cold weather is back this week in northern AZ (snow expected this weekend) and I'm freezing.  We had a couple of warm days that were a bitter sweet tease.  Luckily, I just got this sweater and flannel dress from Tobi to get me through.  I styled the pieces with a black, wide-brimmed hat, ankle booties, and black sheer tights paired with over-the-knee socks.  The last finishing touch to the outfit was my new favorite backpack from Fusion.  I love the boho, vintage accent of the floral tapestry while the clear section totally modernizes the piece.  Wearing this beauty to college definitely helps the days seem better (at least more fab).  Hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend!  Any fun spring break plans?  Let me know in the comments!  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Sticks & Stones

Less than ten days until Spring Break, but who's counting the days? (ME.) As you know, I'm loving the bohemian vibes this spring.  A sequined dress paired with over-the-knee boots makes a stunning combination.  I styled the combo with a long, black shrug, a wide-brimmed fedora hat, a copper purse, a delicate silver moon pendant necklace, and a skull ring to add an edge.

Right now, I'm working on my art portfolio, getting ready to complete my Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design.  As an artist, I find it kind of funny how many of my designs are feminine with bright colors, while my favorite color for fashion is black (you know, boho grunge with an edge.)  Personal expression comes in so many forms and can be so different depending on what you are doing.  I adore creative freedom and the ability to be eclectic and flexible, ever changing.  If you are interested, you can check out my portfolio in progress here:  behance.net/sweetbellv7fab

My Style: Spring Fling

Spring break can be the best time to surf at the beach, picnic at parks, dance at poolside parties, and listen to awesome bands.  Styling comfortable outfits is key to enjoying the best of times.  I began with high-rise, shredded cutoffs, a silky white tank, and a soft, tie-dyed kimono.  Adding a tassel necklace, platform sandals, ombré sunnies, and a gorgeous tasseled bag completed the music-festival worthy outfit.  I’m loving blue and white for spring and summer.  I’d like to hear what are your favorite color combinations for the next few months, especially if you’re planning a spring break getaway.  Xoxo, Shelly
