Interning at Show Me Your Mumu Part II

Finding a great summer internship can be challenging but well worth the efforts! Once you land your dream gig, you work hard, you prove yourself through talent, and you keep a positive attitude. Inspiring work atmospheres with high energy vibes are one in a million. I was blessed to land an internship at Show Me Your Mumu this past summer, and it was absolutely amazing!

The internship was everything I had hoped for and more; a fast-paced, self-motivated, creative atmosphere with girl bosses (women of character, hard-working and goal-driven, mature and cooperative, leaders and team players, and chasers of success) galore . First off, Mumu HQ is in downtown Los Angeles in between the Art District and Fashion District, which is an incredible location. The inside layout is open, light infused, and decorated as a colorful bohemian paradise. As a “Mutern,” I worked closely with the social media guru Shannon, PR pro Molly, sales goddess Sara, and designer/PR genius Lauren. I assisted with all things social media, including content creation, marketing pitches, influencer outreach, graphic design, and much more. It was invigorating to be thrown in the middle of huge assignments and work as a part of the Mumu team!

I want to give a HUGE thank you to the two co-founders and creative directors Cammy and Cologne, who are indeed inspirational women/ total girl bosses. My summer adventure in Cali incorporated a lot of hard work, but I also enjoyed different tourist favorites like Hollywood, the Broad Museum, the Getty Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Universal Studios, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica Beach, and Venice Beach. In SoCal, you work hard but you play hard too. So, I know many of you are interviewing for internships and I wish you luck. I will be graduating in May and must decide what to do with my life. Exciting times ahead! Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Sedona East

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year with colors of deep burgundy, brown, and gold, seen in nature as well as in beautiful clothing. This season, gorgeous prints, edgy cutout shoulders, and bold over-the-knee boots are major trends. The dress in this look is from Sedona East.  If you're looking for some new boho items, whether for your home, dorm room, or closet, use this discount code to save 15% at ARIZONAGIRL15. These lace-up-the-back, over-the-knee boots with cut outs by Guess are comfortable, quality made, and a fun addition to any closet. Lastly, I styled the outfit with a black suede hat and a silver concho belt--two essentials for any boho-chic look :) Autumn speaks to me of vibrant color changes, cooler winds, and the sheer excitement of change. Flagstaff is definitely in full swing for fall with 39-degree mornings and gusty winds, so it cracks me up when I read other blogs that are talking about 90-degree weather. I'm already starting to bundle up in the mornings, and soon you'll see me styling winter looks.  Happy fall, everyone! Xoxo, Shelly

Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas Q&A

Friday was so much fun! The lucky winners of the Arizona Girl VIP Experience giveaway were Hannah and her sister Addie. We arrived and were treated like, well, VIPs! Behind the most awesome DJ ever, we had a roped off area in the shade right by the stage with a dedicated security guard and complimentary ice water. We cut the long, long lines and received swag bags full of goodies. It was great to see Nick and Demi, who were excited for their concert that night. And to top it off, it was Nick's birthday! Such a blast!

Special thank you to Munira of Phoenix Premium Outlets & Katelyn of DPWPR for a wonderful day!  Xoxo, Shelly
